Deck, Patio & Fence in DFW

Cleaned at a pressure the timber can take, so it is ready to seal rather than ready to sand.

Wood is soft, and a fence or deck cleaned at concrete pressure comes out furry — the grain lifts, the surface goes fibrous, and what was meant to be a clean-up turns into a sanding job before anything can be sealed.

We clean timber at low pressure with a wood-appropriate solution that takes off the gray oxidised layer, the mildew and the algae while leaving the fibre intact. Composite decking gets the same treatment, since the boards mark just as easily.

If you are staining or sealing afterwards, tell us — the surface needs to dry properly first, and we will time the work so you are not sealing moisture into the boards.

Questions

Deck, Patio & Fence — what people ask

Why does my deck look furry after it was cleaned?
It was cleaned at too high a pressure. Wood is soft, and pressure lifts the grain and leaves the surface fibrous — which then needs sanding before anything can be sealed. It is the single most common way a well-meant clean-up turns into a bigger job.
Can I stain or seal straight after cleaning?
No — the timber needs to dry properly first, usually two to three days depending on weather and shade. Sealing moisture into boards traps it, and the finish fails early. Tell us you are sealing and we will time the work around it.
Do you clean composite decking as well as wood?
Yes, and it wants the same care. Composite boards mark and scar under pressure just as timber does, and the damage is more visible because the surface is uniform. Low pressure and the right solution, same as wood.
